The Blue Flag Beach
Attractions include reclining on a sunbed under parasol shade, and swimming in the bluest of seas. When snorkelling or sailing, keep an eye out for turtles in the clear waters – the beach is a turtle nesting site. Normally under cover of darkness aided by Pissouri Turtlewatch; count yourself very lucky if you witness a daytime hatching!
Handy beachfront cafés supply cooling drinks, leisurely lunches and quick snacks. If you love watersports, there’s plenty of choice – inflatable rides, waterskiing, pedalos, kayaks and jet skis, or take to the skies with a parasail over the bay. We particularly recommend Chris Watersports run by our friends Jeff and Mo – who even offer free WiFi at your lounger. For the truly adventurous, book a flyboard lesson to jet-propel you 10 metres above the waves.
Ramps give access for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and a concrete path runs along the rear of the sands, allowing everyone to enjoy the delights of the beach. With free changing rooms, toilets and showers, plus lifeguard supervision in the summer months, you can happily spend the whole day there. The beach itself is a mixture of sand and pebbles.
For a tiny resort, Pissouri Bay packs in plenty of places to eat and drink, and things to do. As everything is within a short walk, the designated driver can have time off too. If you like to explore, that’s also easy – with local car hire in addition to the airport operators, and the Limassol-Paphos motorway only a 5-minute drive.
Pissouri Bay Photo Sphere
As a regular Pissouri visitor with his family, talented photographer James has created an impressive gallery of local artistic shots. He has kindly given permission for us to share this excellent 360 degree photo sphere of Pissouri Bay taken at Chris Watersports in late May.
